We must build on our ‘Redland
Shire Community Plan - Vision 2005 & Beyond’ an provide renewed direction
to our politicians and community leaders.
In 1995 our community came together to
answer the questions ‘What kind of a place do we want Redlands to be in ten
years’ time? What is our Vision for the
year 2005?’
The Redland Shire Community Plan–Vision
2005 & Beyond was subsequently developed by the community and presented
to Redland Shire Council as a guidebook for achieving our collective expectations
over the short, medium and long term.
Council’s own Corporate Plan takes its lead from this document.
It is time now to update and build upon this
work, to develop the Redland Shire Community Plan–Vision 2021 & Beyond. We look to Redland Shire Council to sponsor
and facilitate once again. This new
community visioning and planning process will empower the people of our Shire
to consider our future together, and to determine the kind of community we want
to become over the next 17 years, as we again tackle four fundamental
questions:
What is our Shire like now?
What will our Shire be like in the future, if
we continue down the same path?
What kind of a Shire do we want to have?
What do we have to do to make sure we achieve
the desired outcomes?
